Welcome to Albany!
This vibrant city is the jewel in New York's crown and a great weekend getaway. Once in Albany, you can take a walking tour or board one of the City's trolleys with a guide to describe to you the City's cultural facilities and historic sites. However, it is best to start your city tour with The Visitor's Center; it will supply you with information on concert and theater performances, on dining and lodging options, or help you book a tour on one of the sightseeing boats that sails on the Hudson River.
Whatever you need, the city sure has an attraction to get your interest. For the sports enthusiast, there is hockey, football and basketball at the Pepsi Arena. Also, outdoor enthusiasts come here to ski, hike, canoe and fish. History buffs will enjoy the colonial homes, historic churches and museums, and can tour 18th-century mansions, like the Schuyler, a superb example of pre-Revolutionary War architecture. Also, the city enjoys a rich collection of arts and entertainment venues.
Albany is also famous for its annual Tulip Festival in May and for its free Alive-at-Five concert series at the Corning Preserve on the riverfront in the summer.
